YouTube Music adds conversational AI search and a weekly podcast guide
At Made On YouTube, the company announced Ask Music and an AI podcast lineup, both described as coming soon to YouTube Music and Premium subscribers worldwide.
At its Made On YouTube event, YouTube announced two discovery features for the YouTube Music app. Ask Music is a conversational experience covering podcasts and what the company describes as a catalogue of more than 300 million songs, including official studio recordings, remixes, live performances, covers and DJ sets, with options to adjust the queue or go deeper into an artist's background.
The second, your podcast lineup, is a personalised AI audio guide for YouTube Music and Premium subscribers that gives a weekly spoken preview of recommended shows, explains why they were picked, and then plays the suggested episodes hands-free.
YouTube says users discovered an artist new to them over 450 million times in July 2026. Both features are described as coming soon worldwide; no launch date or market list was given. For artists and labels, discovery increasingly runs through an AI layer that reads catalogue data, which raises the value of accurate metadata, credits and artist information.
