Apple Music picks up five changes in iOS 27, reported by 9to5Mac from Apple's own materials and the current beta: landscape layouts that place artwork and lyrics side by side, an upgraded AutoMix, redesigned artist pages, a new Friends playlist, and three extra-large widgets — Recently Played, Recommendations and Top Charts.

Apple says in its press release that AutoMix brings "even better transitions that feel more immersive and engaging for listeners", and that the feature is coming to Apple Music on tvOS and HomePod. The writer's view that beta transitions have improved, and his reading that landscape mode is aimed at the iPhone Ultra, are his own assessments.

For labels and artists, the artist-page redesign is the practical part: pages now carry a fullscreen colour background built around the header image, with the featured release shown more prominently, which raises the value of good profile artwork. The Friends playlist, updated every Thursday, adds a discovery surface driven by listeners rather than editorial. Apple Music remains $11.99 a month.
