Deezer Upgrades HiFi Tier to 24-Bit/192 kHz Lossless Audio
Deezer is upgrading its HiFi tier to support lossless FLAC streaming up to 24-bit/192 kHz at no extra cost for paid subscribers.
Deezer has upgraded its HiFi tier to support high-resolution lossless FLAC streaming at up to 24-bit/192 kHz. The update expands the streaming platform's audio capabilities beyond its standard 16-bit/44.1 kHz CD-quality tier.
The high-resolution audio capability is included for eligible paid subscribers at no additional charge, subject to market, device compatibility, and track availability. Rather than treating high-resolution playback as an expensive add-on, Deezer is integrating it directly into its core subscription offering.
For independent artists, record labels, and distributors, this transition underscores the importance of delivering 24-bit studio master files during ingestion. As major streaming platforms normalize 24-bit lossless playback without pricing surcharges, catalogs delivered solely in lower bit depths risk falling behind prevailing distribution and playback standards.
