Deezer to Let Users Filter Out Fully AI-Generated Music
Deezer is introducing an on/off toggle by the end of 2026 to exclude fully AI-generated tracks and artists from search results.
Deezer has announced a new feature that will allow listeners to completely filter out fully AI-generated music from their search results. Scheduled for a global rollout before the end of 2026, the on/off toggle lets users exclude fully synthetic tracks, albums, and artist profiles from their browsing experience.
The platform reported that it receives nearly 90,000 fully AI-generated tracks daily, accounting for more than half of peak uploads. Deezer previously introduced proprietary detection tools to tag synthetic releases, stating it has already removed more than 42 million AI-generated tracks from its editorial playlists and algorithmic recommendation engines since early 2025.
According to Deezer, while synthetic tracks account for only 1% to 3% of total playback, up to 85% of those streams in 2025 were fraudulent and subsequently withheld from royalty distributions. The new filter targets solely fully synthetic content generated by platforms like Suno or Udio, without impacting human recordings that incorporate AI-assisted production tools.
